Vintage Home kit at CMK...

If there was ever a kit you needed, this one is IT!! It is amazing! Rebecca puts together an unbelievable combination of items, things I've never seen before. As you can tell, I couldn't stop creating with it! You can view the kit in its entirety here. The last card is also for Sketch This: Cards - sketch #30! Thanks for visiting me today..hope all is well where you are. ~Danielle~

Love me some pink...

Just a little card I made last night...I was totally trying to make something else, but sometimes you just gotta run with it. ha Would be cute to give to someone for a bridal shower! Love the pink and brown together. I covered a bare chipboard leaf with a floral Fancy Pants rub on, and for the ribbon, just folded it over and tied in the middle with twine and then attached it to the card. Hope you are having a terrific start to your week! ~Danielle~

I've been tagged...

I have been tagged by a few ladies recently! Here are 7 "quirky" facts about me:

1. I have to drink a Mountain Dew in the morning to wake myself up! I don't like the taste or smell of coffee.
2. I love reality TV... garbage shows, I know!
3. Love sweets! Just a little bit each day will fix me.
4. I'm a home body. Love to stay home and have time to myself.
5. Hate cooking with a passion, but love to clean. Am obsessed with having a neat, clean house. It drives me absolutely crazy to have toys/things all over. I make my bed every day.
6. My favorite color is red. I love lots of color, but my house does not show it! It's mostly neutral colors. Even my van is tan. ha
7. I don't like being cold and would love to live somewhere that is warm all the time when I "grow up". ha

I know, I'm somewhat boring! ha If you'd like to share 7 facts about you, please do and link it here so I can read about you! Happy Sunday ~Danielle~

October kit from Inspire Me Card Kits...

As you can see, I've been a busy girl! Never a dull crafting moment around here..and my dining table shows it. LOL These are all projects that I created with the October kit from IMCK! I loved the glittery chipboard and gorgeous Making Memories paper in this kit! The top pic is an old K&Co. tin that I altered and made a lil pocket card to go along with it. The friends card is also my card for the Sketch This: Cards #29 this week! Come on over and create a card with the new sketch! And last, but not least, the bottom 2 are fun projects with lotsa Fancy Pants products, also in the kit. Please come on over and chat with us at IMCK. ~Danielle~
(update: The "friends" card will be in Cards Magazine in April 2008!)

Happy fall...

Wow, there has been a lot going on lately. Hmmm...let's see! First off I wanted to share my first card for Sketch This: Cards! If you love to make cards and haven't checked out Janelle's blog, you should see her sketches and the awesome inspiration there! It's fun to see how everyone interprets the sketches differently!
The second layout is for Amy Teets with the Jack-O-Lantern digital collection from Oscraps. It is a hybrid 8x8 layout. I printed the background/frames/photos in Photoshop onto white cardstock, stitched it and added felt, MM buttons, and paint for my journaling. Fun kit! The background is already crinkled and distressed for you!
There are a couple of cyber crops going on..one right now over at IMCK and one this weekend at Create My Keepsake. Be sure to stop over for challenges, projects, and fun contests, such as a pumpkin decorating contest!
Last, but not least, I have a page over at Memory Makers just for today as their featured idea page for the day here! How exciting! You can sign up for page ideas to be e-mailed to you too on their main page. Well, off to the grocery store. I've been slacking in that department! LOL Hope you have a great day! ~Danielle~

Rock on!!

Do you ever have one of those weeks where everything just seems to go right and things fall into place all by themselves? I am having one rocking week, I tell ya! I don't want it to end. Let's see...I have lots of cool news to share!

I received an e-mail from Deb over at Say It With Letters asking me to join her team! She makes very neat wooden items. Check it out! Her design team call is still going until the end of November if you love to alter things!

Then I found out I made it on the team over at Sketch This: Cards as a new card designer! I can't wait to get started and meet the other girls..thank you so much for choosing me, Janelle! Each week a new card sketch is posted for you to use and get inspiration from.

Memory Makers Magazine is going to be featuring a page of mine on-line! I am not sure when yet..but I'll keep you posted. It is a fall page that I did of Taylor.

Yesterday, I went on an awesome bus tour to 5 scrapbooking stores in Conn. and Mass.! It was so much fun. I actually met Katarria from A Cherry On Top! I didn't even know she worked there. She noticed my name from my credit card. That was too funny! I also got to meet Retta, a lady here in Albany who I've been chatting with on-line. Thanks for going, Retta, I had a wonderful time and it was so fun meeting you in person. And guess how much the whole bus spent on scrapping supplies yesterday...a whopping $7,700!!! Yikes!

And one more for you...today I actually googled my name because I was bored and wondered what would pop up. (You should try this on your name if you haven't yet! Go to www.google.com and enter your name.) And this is what I found! Many, many months ago, I submitted a layout to Home and Garden TV (HGTV) for their Christmas in July call and never heard anything back from them. Well, I guess they did decide to use it and posted it on their website!

Now if I could just win the lottery! hee hee I hope you are having a great week too. Thanks for reading my blog!

Keys to My Heart...

(Click on each photo to see more detail.)
Oohhh wow.. I have recently had the opportunity to work with these new sticky back Dream Street papers from the Delight collection and their new 6 x 12" chipboard books, looooving them! Here is a little album I have started as a special kit for Leslie over at Treasured Scrapbooking. It's called, "Keys to my heart" and is about my 2 girls, of course! :) I have more pages to show you of the inside, but the weather is not cooperating for me to get good pictures, so I will update this post with more pics very soon! I hope you will check back to see them. The little tags pull out and I wrote a very heartfelt message to each girl. Sometimes I worry that something might happen to me and my girls will grow up not knowing how precious they are to me...so I finally got it down on paper... and now they have a piece of me to keep forever! That is what scrapbooking is all about, right?

It is being featured on Dream Street Paper's blog, check it out!
Have a happy Thursday!

Hybrid cards *Amy Teets*...

(Will be seen in Cards Magazine, April 2008!)

The first card is made with Amy Teets' Noteable digital kit from Oscraps.com. Printed the papers out and added a chipboard note from Deluxe Designs, ribbon from American Crafts, and a little distressing.

I created a new blog header for a friend with some awesome digital papers from Amy Teets and loved it so much that I had to make a card out of it too (second image). Papers, brackets, journaling spot, flower and staples (pretty much everything!) are from her SunPorch collection. I created the background in Photoshop, printed it out onto white cardstock and added the sentiment, a little bling and some stitching. Hybrid cards are so much fun, give it a try sometime! (UPDATE: The 2nd card will be in Cards Magazine, April 2008.)

A new technique for your stamps...

I saw this technique for using stamps on Scrapbook Lifestyle last night and had to try it! (click on card to see it closer)

Scan your stamp with a scanner (or take it to a photocopy shop). Enlarge the scanned image and print it out to the size you want. (Here I used a witch stamp that is fairly small..only about 1 and 1/2' x 1'. I printed it out at 4' high and used this as my pattern to create a paper pieced image for a Halloween card!) I simply cut out the pieces from the pattern I printed out...her boots, legs and dress, and used them to trace onto patterned paper and put them back together on my card! Voila! You have your very own custom paper-pieced image!

Card says, "trick or treat..smell my feet!" DT work for Create My Keepsake's Oct. Halloween mini kit! I hope you will give it a try and link your cards or layouts here..I'd love to see them!

More cards for you...

I have two more cards to share with you today! The "fly" card was made with the October Autumn Harvest kit from Create My Keepsake. I stamped the Damask stamp that came in the kit and cut parts of it out for the "wings", and also curled the thread with my scissors like you do on a package!

The stitched "hello" card was made with the September kit from Inspire Me Card Kits. I really enjoyed seeing everyone's cards yesterday for World Card Making Day, although I was busy painting and doing some work on our house, so I wasn't able to make any of my own! I have surely been inspired by all these wonderful cards though and plan to work on some soon!!! I do have 4 cards made for the next kit at Treasured Scrapbooking, but can't share those quite yet..have to wait until the 15th.
Have a happy Columbus Day tomorrow!

Feeling productive...

(Update: This layout was featured as an on-line idea
for Memory Makers Magazine on Oct. 18, 2007!)

Well, I felt productive today! Kati woke me up at 4 am this morning and finally went back to sleep at 8, so I decided to use my quiet time wisely and get some projects done! I finished 2 cards for Treasured Scrapbooking with yummy Cherry Arte papers, who was a sponsor for us this month! LOOOVE their papers/rub ons. So delicious, I didn't want to cut into it!! The scrapbook page was made with Inspire Me Card Kits' Sept. kit, which is Scenic Route and Basic Grey, so perfect for fall!

Did you know that World Card Making Day is this Saturday, October 6th? If you are looking for something to do, several of the sites I design for are having sketches/challenges to celebrate, so pop on over and join us! You will get lots of cards done and maybe win a prize or 2 in the process! There is also a World Card Making Site: click here to see lots of cards! Have a great day.

Pumpkins galore...

Just wanted to pop in and share another card made with Create My Keepsake's Autumn Harvest kit! I am in love with the felt pumpkins from Queen and Co. that are in the kit! I just love playing with new products. Very inspiring for me.

Well, it is getting much cooler outside, the leaves and pine needles are covering my yard once again..time to start raking..ug. I don't much care for that job, but it's good exercise! I can't believe it's October already! Did you get your pumpkins yet?
